Prof. Wanquan Liu, Sun Yat-sen University
Wanquan Liu is a Professor in the School of Intelligent Systems Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Master's degree in Operation Research and Control theory and PhD degree in Control Science and Engineering from Qufu Normal University, Chinese Academy of Science and Shanghai Jiaotong University respectively. From 1993 to 2000, he was at the University of Western Australia and the University of Sydeny doing research on control systems and signal processing. He also once worked in the Research Centre of Motorola in Sydney as a Consultant. From 2000 to 2021, he worked in the School of Computing at Curtin University as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor doing research on machine learning and computer vision. In 2021, he joined Sun Yat-sen University as a Chair Professor. In his academic career, he was once awarded the prestigious ARC Fellow from the Australian Research Council, JSPS Fellow from the Japan Science and Technology Society and Talented Scientist from China Educational Committee. He has published more than 420 papers in reputed journals and conferences and attracted research funds from different resources. He is in the editorial board for several international journals and the Editor-in-Chief for the Mathematical Foundation of Computing.
